Urban Wood Goods uses reclaimed wood from the demolition of pre 1920s era structures such as buildings in Chicago and old barns from all over the Midwest. Owner, Erin Norton True, has several partners she works with to preserve perfectly good wood from being burned or tossed into a land fill.
“This is real wood with a real history and story to tell. This wood once held up century old buidlings and barns. It has the age and love spots to prove it. Each piece has it’s own unique characteristics….often knots, dents, saw marks, nail holes and grooves in each piece of wood I use. I once heard someone say “If it doesn’t have a past, it’s not worth having!” Erin has embraced this idea in her own home, in her Etsy shop and online at her own shop at UrbanWoodGoods.com
